Lithuania i.EKA

Last year, the Lithuanian government introduced the VA-40 Law, along with technical specifications, as new requirements for cash registers. VA-40 requires the use of a so-called “security module”, which is connected to the i.EKA system of the tax authorities. The security module must successfully undergo a certification process by no later than April 30, 2025. Together with our partner, Neto Baltic, we will be providing a security module for Lithuania this year. A beta version of the implementation has already been available for some time.

The following timing regulations are applicable to companies obligated to pay taxes in Lithuania.

  • Contract conclusion / order with a provider: March 2023
  • Implementation of security module and connection to i.EKA system
    • for small trading companies: November 2023

The initial deadline for large trading companies to transmit invoice data to the i.EKA system (January 1, 2023) was not enforced by the tax administration due to the unavailability of the i.EKA system at that time. We have the pleasure to notify you that the i.EKA system is now available for implementation. It is important to note that the tax administration has identified areas for improvement in the system’s performance. This is necessary to ensure seamless live operations.

We will keep you updated on developments in Lithuania.

Release 1.6.6

This week we released the latest version of our service. New functions and features at a glance:

Serbia

  • Version 1.6.6 includes the release candidate for Serbia.
  • The reprinting of documents is now supported.

Lithuania

  • With this version we provide a first ALPHA of the “Trusted Fiscal Country Module Lithuania” (TFCM LT).
  • Connection to i.EKA services has been implemented.
  • Test certificates for signing documents, for the security module and transport module, are already being generated in the RetailForce cloud infrastructure.

Denmark

  • In this version, some extensions and improvements of the Denmark implementation have been implemented.

Bulgaria

  • As of this version, so-called “simplified invoices” can also be issued via the fiscal printer in Bulgaria. You can find more information about this in our Solution Centre at https://support.retailforce.cloud/.

In the release notes of version 1.6.6 you will find a list of all changes and improvements. You can also access the release notes via the RetailForce Cloud, in the “Information” menu.

Release 1.6.5 available

Version 1.6.5 brings with it some significant new features:

RetailForce Cloud

  • The entire cloud infrastructure was upgraded to .NET6.
  • Furthermore, the release notes of all middleware versions are now also available on the portal under the menu item “Information”.
  • Various views in the individual menu items have been added (e.g. terminal overview and search in “Stores”).
  • Austria: in the case of FinanzOnline (FoN) reports, the user who made a particular report is now also logged. In addition, the registration status of signature creation devices with the respective organisation is displayed.

Serbia

  • The current version contains BETA 2 of the “Trusted Fiscal Country Module Serbia” (TFCM-RS).
  • In addition to V-SDC, local smart cards (E-SDC) are now also supported.

Swissbit TSE 2.0

  • We were the first provider to implement a first BETA version of the Swissbit TSE 2.0. A modified swissbit hardware TSE is used, on which the CSP component (Cryptographic Service Provider) has been deactivated.

The advantages of this solution:

  • TSE can continue to be used even if the certificate term of the CSP expires.
  • No implementation of the environmental protection concept necessary, as the SMAERS component is protected accordingly due to the design of the TSE.

All changes can be found in the Release Notes at: https://www.retailforce.cloud/downloads/Version%201.6.5/ReleaseNotes1.6.5.md, as well as in the RetailForce Portal.

Reporting process cash registers – Sweden

The Swedish Tax Agency informed us that from 1 April 2023, due to a stricter application of Section 7 of the Tax Procedure Act, reports on the status of cash registers will only be accepted if they are made by authorised natural persons.

Reports by telephone, letter or e-mail will no longer be accepted.

Reports like:

  • Registration (reporting) of cash registers
  • Change notifications,
  • Error reports
  • Decommissioning (de-report) messages

must be made via the Swedish Tax Agency’s e-service.

Authorised persons

The above messages may only be carried out by authorised persons. These are persons who have e-service access for the corresponding (cash-operating) company.

The e-service can also be used by companies to authorise third parties (natural persons) to carry out cash register declarations / reportings. This person must have a Swedish national insurance number.

Notification

Up to now, the reports regarding cash registers were made automatically via our system or the systems of our partner in Sweden. Due to the tightening of the application of the law, notifications can no longer be made automatically, but must be completed by the customer himself via e-service.

We currently provide the data required for the commissioning of cash registers as a file. The data must then be entered in the Swedish Tax Agency’s e-Service Portal. Please note that change, error and decommissioning messages must now also be carried out manually!

Transitional regulation cv cryptovision TSE

As known, the certification of version 1 of the TSE of the company cv cryptovision GmbH (product: D-TRUST TSE Module) expired on 7 January 2023. An initial transitional arrangement has been created for TSEs acquired before 7 July 2022. These should still be allowed to be used until 31 July 2023 (even without a valid certificate).

Now the highest German tax authority informs in their letter of 16 March that:

The replacement of the no longer certified technical security device […] shall be carried out immediately at the latest from the certification of the TSE version 2 of the company cv cryptovision GmbH [ist] and the legal requirements shall be fulfilled immediately. [sind]. Insofar as the transitional arrangement has been used and the competent tax office has been notified in writing or electronically, no adverse consequences, solely from the lack of certification of the TSE, will be drawn for the period until 31 July 2024.

This also includes TSEs acquired after 7 July 2022. If a company has already submitted a notification to the competent tax office to make use of the transitional arrangement on the basis of the BMF letter dated 13 October 2022, it is no longer necessary to submit a further notification to make use of the extension. However, it is recommended to record this accordingly in the procedural documentation.

The complete letter can be found on the website of the BMF.
